Thank you! How wide is this example? I would say this original Dutch lanyard is similar to the one that started this thread, but the one I posted originally is 3mm thick, and has a different clip. Your clip looks like a WWII-era object. Notice the plain, solid brass finish and the stout ring. The one on mine is cheap. Perhaps made to imitate the original Dutch version, as are the versions posted from the 70s/80s? Again, I believe the type at the beginning of the post is actually an earlier post war US made example. I think it is also possible that at least some of the "thick/clip less" versions are Dutch, with the clip removed..

Bringing this thread back up..  Andy, thought you might want to add this to your research..

 

Here are two OL’s from an 82nd/325th veteran’s Ike.. the thicker one is on the uniform and the other thinner one with cut ends was in the breast pocket…the cut one measures about 48”.  The Ike came directly from the daughter.  His date of separation, was Ft Lewis, Nov 22, 1945.
