Austringer Posted May 5, 2016 Author Share #4 Posted May 5, 2016 It's fairly early in the production, Kannar #15XXX. so early to mid Vietnam. Now, just need to get some HEDP and Airburst rounds to play with. :-)

Charlie Flick Posted May 5, 2016 Share #6 Posted May 5, 2016 What a great piece, Jason. I am envious! I'd love to see you crank off a couple of HE rounds with that thing. Regards, Charlie
MWalsh Posted May 5, 2016 Share #7 Posted May 5, 2016 Those things are an absolute HOOT. Can you still buy the practice chalk rounds off Gunbroker? I know you could about a year ago, by the case, but then I recall hearing that for some reason ATF put a stop to that. To be honest I haven't looked at rounds on there for a while so I am not sure if those vendors sell them still or not then.
jim_mi Posted May 7, 2016 Share #8 Posted May 7, 2016 Very nice. I remember firing the m79. I also remember riding in an old-school cattlecar on Pendleton when the thump guy put an m80 in the bore and Pressed the muzzle against the bulkhead right behind the driver. That did not go over well...
Kurt Barickman Posted May 7, 2016 Share #9 Posted May 7, 2016 Cool, we had four of the M-79s in the armory of USS Stump DD-978 and they were a bunch of fun to shoot. Congrats, Kurt
