Vix Steel Posted May 1, 2016 Share #1 Posted May 1, 2016 Picked this plaque up yesterday. My friend google told me this was a Y class Mine Sweeper... My question, is this a plaque from the ship itself? Thanx

Vix Steel Posted May 3, 2016 Author Share #3 Posted May 3, 2016 Yup was able to find that history. Looks like it did its job but was uneventful. I was just wondering where this plaque would have been mounted? If it was from the ship itself...

If it was from the ship itself... yes, it was on the ship itself, and would have been mostly Kelly in the Ward Room, or crews mess. I have also seen them in Captains cabins. Vix Steel Posted May 3, 2016 Author Share #5 Posted May 3, 2016 Thanx for that info, its what I was hoping for. Not a bad pickup, price was cheap. Just have to wondering how it ended up in Canada. Maybe the ship was retired or sold for scrap to a Canadian firm.
