Niki Posted April 25, 2016 Share #1 Posted April 25, 2016 Hi all, This weekend was the biggest militaria fair in Belgium at the village Ciney and had a blast with the things i have found. Found some great items to complete missing items on my two SRU-21 vest included two PRC90 radio's that i was looking for. Also lots of nice russian gear and flight helmets but i cant put picts on the forum so sorry for my eyes only . I found two flight helmets that i think are great ,first a P-4B from a VOODOO pilot named CAPT. NEWPORT who flow with the 4756th AIR DEFENCE WING. Hope that this helmet is legit and not a mock up from a little kind who put stickers on it. Any help on this helmet would be great thx. niki. phantomfixer Posted April 25, 2016 Share #2 Posted April 25, 2016 Nice helmet..clean and dig the decals...
northcoastaero Posted April 25, 2016 Share #3 Posted April 25, 2016 The helmet looks to be original. Strategic Air Command had blue/white decals for flight helmets and I have seen a few other P series flight helmets with decals. Nice find.

Niki Posted April 28, 2016 Author Share #5 Posted April 28, 2016 Hi, Thanks for watching. Can anybody tell me what kind of oxygen mask i can put on his helmet? a MBU-5 with christmastree bajonettes?
northcoastaero Posted April 28, 2016 Share #6 Posted April 28, 2016 I would guess the mask would be an MBU-3/P, a variant of the MS-22001. The mask would be modified with the Hardman hard shell with Christmas tree bayonets. What is the date of manufacture on the helmet?
Niki Posted April 28, 2016 Author Share #7 Posted April 28, 2016 The date is aug. 3 ,1959.
Ultra Hog Posted April 29, 2016 Share #8 Posted April 29, 2016 Great piece !!! Voodoo decal is original, for sure ! I have seen such artwork on a P-4 sold on eBay As said, an MBU-3/P would be great !
Niki Posted April 29, 2016 Author Share #9 Posted April 29, 2016 Okay thanks on the info for the oxygen mask. I have a nice MBU-3/P but it has the connections of the WW 2 with buttons on one side and a snap clip on the other side. How can i change this mask into the mask with the christmastree bajonettes? Ultra Hog Posted April 30, 2016 Share #10 Posted April 30, 2016 This is an old MS22001, not MBU-3/P ! It will be a crime to make surgery on that mask. Go & find a MS22001 facepiece without anything upon (eBay, there's 2) & add a hardshell with Christmas tree bayo !
Nahkampfmesser Posted May 22, 2016 Share #11 Posted May 22, 2016 Great helmet - thanks for sharing pictures. Did you find a oxygen mask to match with it? If you consider selling and making a few bucks let me know!
Niki Posted May 22, 2016 Author Share #12 Posted May 22, 2016 No ,Still looking for the oxygen mask but i have time to look for one. I will not sell it beqause its hard to find these helmets with decals and its the first time i saw these decals on a P-4 flight helmet. I payed 400 euro for it so i think it was to many but where can you find these helmet in this condition now a days?
