Marksman Posted April 25, 2016 Share #1 Posted April 25, 2016 Hello all, yesterday i got this Sterling Badge. It looks like an Air Cadet badge - but overall gold colored. Its marked STERLING - has a pinback - wide from wing tip to wing tip 1.7 inch (4,4cm) Is it a Sweatheart badge or ??? Greetings Stefan

pfrost Posted April 25, 2016 Share #3 Posted April 25, 2016 Nice WWII vintage wing, but typically they are viewed as patriotic/sweetheart jewelry, not something that was worn by an airman. Still, I suspect that sometimes they may have been worn on caps and such. Patrick

firefighter Posted April 25, 2016 Share #6 Posted April 25, 2016 Nice wings. For $5.50 you can't go wrong.I agree with Pfrost that these are usually 'sweetheart' pins.I have never seen a type like this on a uniform or cap, not saying they weren't used for that though. Marksman Posted April 26, 2016 Author Share #7 Posted April 26, 2016 Thank you very much. I buyed it from a nice belgian girl. This was the only older piece and compared to all the other Bades the price was good. Stefan
Shakethetrees Posted April 26, 2016 Share #8 Posted April 26, 2016 It's definitely a sweetheart. It was stamped in one piece of very thin metal and a lower quality pin/catch is used.
