Clark CA-1 Airborne Dozer

Arriving in the UK last month is this lovely 1944 Clark CA-1. Designed to be flown into austere locations by either glider or C-47, airborne engineers would construct rough airstrips with it.

Only 2600 were manufactured so I feel privileged to now own one.

You need a HBT short brim and a tank top T with a cigar clinched in your teeth to work that beautiful machine properly.Don't forget to sling a carbine over you shoulder,

Jonesy, That bugger is defective! The blade is full of dents. You'd better send it back over here to my attention! :)

I didn't fully grasp how small it was until I got to the pic of you sitting on it. It's a lil' baby dozer.

Did you come with the dozer in Normandy next year ?

We start to think to make a "glider" camp, in fields for the 2017 or 2018.

No, I only took the jeep this year.

Keep me informed if you decide on a glider camp. I'd be very interested especially if you had a CG-4A mock up.
