Sal,

I remember the left most coin you have (with 30 June 2004 date) being available for purchase inside of the Embassy compound by a guy named Roger Schafer who ran a small gift shop. I have a few that are within the same number range as yours, and were obtained mid-2005. I remember looking over his spreadsheet of available numbers to see if certain ones were available for my organization.

I might have the same MNFI coin too, but numbered, I'll have to check the office.

Yeah the gift shop was like a closet right? Small world even this many years later. It was a memorable period working there for sure

And indeed fortunate to be able to witness the trial. I was able to attend one day of it, Halloween 2006, it was a very interesting and once-in-a-lifetime event. How many people can say they were at the trial of a dictator, after all?

Yeah that is a once in a lifetime opportunity Tim. I wasn’t able to or authorized to go to the trial. I was, however part of the team that met and escorted the parliamentary leaders when they re-formed the government. But the kick was recon and set up of the secret gated area for the witnesses for the trial. We had them in the GZ in some small place. Set up trailers, coordinated food and water deliveries, transportation to and from the trial etc. it was a trip, meeting at night to coordinate and execute. Blacked out buses, dealing with FBI, Bureau of Prisons agents, deputies from the ambassadors office. It was right out of a movie script. Closest I got to seeing the trial were the people in it.

I know, right? I should have taken a picture of it but never imagined I’d never get it back. I suppose a furniture  maker could recreate the bottom. That’s a great idea, thank you

More items but from Taji...these are now in the hands of another collector and forum member but I’m taking the liberty to post. They were liberated from a large warehouse on the base. They are either school books, training manuals, or some combination of both. There are 3 notebooks but of course I don’t know what they say.
