Photo pickups for the week.

Here are some recent pickups that came in.

 

 

{top mid}The B-26 has "191" on the front Pilot side of the plane. Not sure what that references the plane to.

{bottom Left} U.S. Army TB-25, The Serial# No.A.C. 42-87386 I think...the 3 might be a 5 and the 6 might be a 8.

{Bottom Right} B-29 "Ole Herringbone"

{top right} Tail#483547 With "headquarters above it. the back of the guys shirt says Okinawa. The plane has a 20th Air force insignia on the tail.

{bottom Left}Unknown Major General.

{Bottom right} Paul D Monroe of 20th Air Force

{Top Left & Bottom right} "the Squaw"

{top right} B-29 with "26" by waist gunner area.

{bottom Left} "The Wucky Wabbit." I couldn't find anything info her.

The following are results from some research:

 

-VB-17G Flying Fortress 44-83547. At one time at Kadena Okinawa. Transferred to RoCAF then possibly shot down by PLA MiG-17 6/23/1956.

-B-24D The Squaw 41-11761. 98th BG, 343rd BS. Ploesti raid veteran. Nose art may also have been Sleepy.

-B-29 #26. T on the tail. 73rd BW, 498th BG based on Saipan from April 1945. The 26 may be the last digits in the acft. serial number?
