theinsigne Posted April 21, 2016 Share #1 Posted April 21, 2016 Hey, found this flight suit recently, the tag is black on black: Suit, Flying, Summer Specification Mil-S-53908 L.W. Foster Sportswear Co. inc. Contract No. N383-41107A Size 40 Long so, I have a mil-s-53908 flight suit in kaki, named to a wwii pilot, though I'm unfamiliar with the model in blue, does anyone have any info about this suit and its patch? much appreciated! TBMflyer Posted April 21, 2016 Share #2 Posted April 21, 2016 Not sure about the flight suit but the patch is for VAH-4 or HATRON 4, Heavy Attack Squadron. They flew A3D Skywarriors in the 60's. Hope this helps, Mark

northcoastaero Posted April 22, 2016 Share #5 Posted April 22, 2016 I am not familiar with the blue variant. Maybe it was dyed blue? Interesting there is a squadron patch but no snap on or stitched on name plate or name/squadron strips on the front above the zippered pockets. According to wikipedia.org VAH-4 flew the Skywarrior from 1956-1968. The flight suit is most likely from the late 1950s-early 1960s.
phantomfixer Posted April 22, 2016 Share #6 Posted April 22, 2016 Dyed blue seems plausible...drum dyed to include the tag
