Normandy1944 Posted April 21, 2016 Share #1 Posted April 21, 2016 Since I've got a new sort of hobby (working as an amateur military advisor for video games) I'm digging a lot into archives, museums databases, books et cetera for reference pictures. I came across some interesting pictures from American weapons in use. The ones using them are not the one you'd expect though. Enjoy

Wonder if the same thing can be found in the PTO? Closest to this I've seen is the B-17 painted over with German markings lol... VFG
Bodes Posted April 21, 2016 Share #6 Posted April 21, 2016 I'm still waiting to see evidence of German infantry actually carrying garands in combat.....They tended to like lightweight weapons that had high rates of fire....Hence you see them carrying the US carbines....Bodes

Corpsman_1941 Posted April 21, 2016 Share #14 Posted April 21, 2016 Very nice topic! BTW the most interesting "beute waffen" I've seen so far was M1A1 carbine (special version for paratroopers with folding stock) found few years ago on formed German positions on eastern front ( I don't remember if it was western Poland or eastern Germany). M1 Carbines weren't sent to USSR as part od Lend-Lease programme so it was probably taken by German soldier who was stationed in France or Holland for some time and later was sent to eastern front. gwb123 Posted April 22, 2016 Share #22 Posted April 22, 2016 Here's one from after the battle. The thing that always struck me about that first photo is how absolutely pristine those weapons look... like they didn't get much use before they were captured. I am not seeing a US weapon in the second photo. Can somebody point it out please.
