VenitHora Posted April 13, 2016 Share #1 Posted April 13, 2016 I thought this article on my website might be of interest to Marine Collectors about a relatively unknown marking.http://awartobewon.com/wwii-collectibles/marine-gun-battalions-philippines/

Kurt Barickman Posted April 13, 2016 Share #3 Posted April 13, 2016 I had at least two examples of those and sold them on Ebay a few years ago. Nice documentation article. Kurt
VenitHora Posted April 15, 2016 Author Share #4 Posted April 15, 2016 David, thanks, I'm glad you like the shirt. Kurt, I'm glad you like the article. I appreciate the kind words coming from a USMC expert.
MCDUFF Posted April 15, 2016 Share #5 Posted April 15, 2016 That is a super example! Thanks for the information. I had seen this marking before, but didn't know its origin! Great article, thanks! I saw a similar 'shield' in a photo on Iwo. I enclose it here. I cannot remember which book I found it in. It looks like there is a dog drawn within the 'shield', so must be a dog handler? I also like this photo, as it shows a set of P44s being worn on the island.. All the best, Graham
