Patrick.s Posted March 17, 2016 Share #1 Posted March 17, 2016 Do these patches really command such a price? http://www.ebay.com/itm/VINTAGE-AUTHENTIC-WW-II-US-ARMY-TANK-DESTROYER-6-SIX-WHEEL-PATCH-VERY-GOOD-/111938825275?hash=item1a1012ec3b:g:IBUAAOSwZ8ZW44GL
Teamski Posted March 17, 2016 Share #2 Posted March 17, 2016 Not that one. It is either an error patch or the upper wheels were picked out. A fool and his money are soon departed....... -Ski
Teamski Posted March 17, 2016 Share #3 Posted March 17, 2016 Here are examples of what the patch was supposed to be and one that is a genuine 6 wheel..... -Ski

lamarhooten Posted March 17, 2016 Share #11 Posted March 17, 2016 I have been lucky enough to have had two of these beasts and they have always looked like the ones pictured in the other posts. There has been points and pictures brought up about a possible different version that is also good. On the fence about that one. I have no pics of the other one. Maybe OCSFOLLOWME has one in his archives or remebers the the thread and can post the info. I belive Dr. Mort had the most to say about it. ocsfollowme Posted March 17, 2016 Share #12 Posted March 17, 2016 Here are the two known accepted variations as per ASMIC founders in link below. http://www.usmilitariaforum.com/forums/index.php?/topic/229038-tank-destroyer-patch-six-wheels/ The bottom one is the typical one. And personally, this is the one that I would rather drop money on.
mortaydc60 Posted March 17, 2016 Share #13 Posted March 17, 2016 The version with the round circle wheels is the one you want. Back in the day the price was $100 per wheel , and now as Bob relates that would be a minimum. Mort

Bill Scott Posted March 18, 2016 Share #16 Posted March 18, 2016 Ski if you use that logic on an error with a collectible why is the inverted Jenny stamp worth 1,000,000 dollar and a regular one worth almost nothing.Scotty
Teamski Posted March 18, 2016 Share #17 Posted March 18, 2016 Ski if you use that logic on an error with a collectible why is the inverted Jenny stamp worth 1,000,000 dollar and a regular one worth almost nothing.Scotty You know that you cannot compare collecting criteria from two different fields of collecting like that. By your logic above, you owe me $30 for this patch. -Ski
