gijoeou812 Posted March 14, 2016 Share #1 Posted March 14, 2016 Hello, I know that there have been several threads about WASP wings and I believe that I have read most of them. But I picked up this set of wings and from what I have read, I still am not sure if these are real or reproduction? There is no maker name stamped on them, only a faint Sterling making. So if anyone would like to give me there opinion one way or the other, and explain why that feel that way I would be very grateful for any and all help that I can get. Thank you! rustywings Posted March 14, 2016 Share #5 Posted March 14, 2016 The WASP badge you've illustrated is a cast reproduction in my opinion. Hopefully you're in a position to seek a refund. You can find your identical wings and dozens of other cast reproductions at www.1903.com.

KVSkelton Posted March 14, 2016 Share #7 Posted March 14, 2016 gijoeou812, Here are some good links discussing the differences found in cast vs die-struck wings and a good reference site if you haven't seen it before. I hope they help! http://pfrost.bol.ucla.edu/Fakes_Blog/Entries/2010/3/30_Die-struck_wings.html http://pfrost.bol.ucla.edu/Fakes_Blog/Entries/2010/3/12_Intro_to_fakes_and_reproductions.html http://www.ww2wings.com/main.shtml Kevin

Patchcollector Posted March 15, 2016 Share #11 Posted March 15, 2016 Since most cannot afford(or even find for sale) an authentic WASP Wing, many collectors have the copies in their collections.Even some of the older copies have value.
