robinb Posted February 9, 2007 Share #3 Posted February 9, 2007 That's a cut-down Remington bayonet for the rolling-block rifle. Too bad about the bayonet, but it looks like you have a nice scabbard!
Ricardo Posted February 9, 2007 Author Share #4 Posted February 9, 2007 Hi Robin, Thank you mate!! After you reply, I finding one very similar in: http://www.old-smithy.info/bayonets/Knife_Bayonet_(7).htm Maybe a Remington cut-down Mexican Combat Knife (notice the same scabbard). Best regards, Ricardo.
Greg Robinson Posted February 9, 2007 Share #5 Posted February 9, 2007 Ricardo What you've got there reminds me of a cutdown Remington Model of 1917 bayonet I once saw at a gunshow. It was very reasonable priced and I should have bought it....it was a good looking piece....but I was afraid it was a "fantasy" item. But in your case, I think it had a military application. That's a very interesting looking scabbard. And it's actually a scarce bayonet. Greg
