kyhistorian01 Posted March 3, 2016 Share #1 Posted March 3, 2016 I went to a flea market over the weekend and since I have a collection of military bibles, prayer books and hymnals I am always looking out for them. I found this undated Hymnal for $5 on one of the outside vendor tables. I knew it was old, but when I looked up the United States Christian Commission in order to date it I found that it was an organization in operation form 1861 - 1866 that provided comfort items, Bibles and Hymnals to union troops. The United States Christian Commission gave out over a million during the course of the war according to my research, You wonder where they all went.
