Cut-Down versions of our M1938 dismounted leggings have restocked. These were common with GIs during the Normandy France campaign in the weeks and months following the invasion. Plenty of photographic evidence shows GI frequently cut down their leggings. The real reason for this is not known but it does make the wearing of them easier and makes for a distinctive appearance.
