camillus Posted February 19, 2016 Share #2 Posted February 19, 2016 I read that they were experimental and the rarest of all the JPKs
SKIPH Posted February 20, 2016 Share #3 Posted February 20, 2016 camillus-Milpars are few, and far between , but I believe the aluminum handled ones, were the experimental version. Have only seen 1 as I recall, at the Raleigh Militaria Show. Not cheap either. SKIP
bayonetman Posted February 20, 2016 Share #4 Posted February 20, 2016 Several years ago I spoke with a gentleman who had been employed at Milpar in the 1960s. We mainly talked bayonets, although Milpar made several other items including mess gear and other more esoteric items. We did not talk much about the JPK, although as I recall (and my memory may not be as good as I would like) he indicated that Milpar had a habit of making samples of various items to submit in hopes of getting contracts. I suspect that it is at least possible that the JPKs and the aluminum handle versions MAY have actually been samples rather than full production items.
