smwinter207 Posted February 15, 2016 Author Share #3 Posted February 15, 2016 No, it's a clean parka. Olive green outside and orange inside. I'm guessing 1970s, but I was hoping the tag would help. Google was not helpful.
Third Herd Posted February 15, 2016 Share #4 Posted February 15, 2016 Not government issue, the tag is to make you think it is. I never saw an Air Force Parka with an orange lining that was issued by the government.

flyboy53 Posted February 15, 2016 Share #8 Posted February 15, 2016 Actually, I have seen flying parkas with orange linings ... but the shell was blue. Not sure if that was unique to Alaska and the Alaskan Air Command. Issued parkas were not always issued by government contract. The one that I was issued at my last base and still have was an Alpha Industries version that had both the commercial and government contract labels on the inside. Good indications of early military issue is if there is some sort of Hap Arnold insignia on the left shoulder. I've seen them stenciled white or full color. Another indication of age is if the hood as actual fur or that white simulated stuff that got matted and dirty with age.
M60 Driver Posted February 18, 2016 Share #9 Posted February 18, 2016 Stitching on the label suggests overseas manufacturer of commercial parka as does label itself. I sold this type of jacket for decades in my surplus store so no good way to determine age.
