roadrunner Posted February 12, 2016 Share #1 Posted February 12, 2016 Hello I received a few pictures from a friends collection. Here is a item I haven't seen before. Is it a original Navy item or a unofficial ? Sorry I don't have a picture of the reverse. Michael
dhodak Posted February 12, 2016 Share #2 Posted February 12, 2016 This is a fantasy piece sold to collectors never worn or authorized. There are other different examples that always popup on ebay.

Tim B Posted February 14, 2016 Share #4 Posted February 14, 2016 First time I've seen that particular pattern. Usually they have the so-called Seawolf class fantasy pattern. Different but totally unauthorized. Also comes in gilt.
walk2892 Posted July 21, 2016 Share #5 Posted July 21, 2016 That is a badge made by the USS Philadelphia association around 2002. Not officially authorized since the fairwater planes do not meet the Navy requirements. The seawolf badges were and still used by members on the seawolf from what I understand. There are a few other unoffical badges out there like DBF and the "Bush" badges.
