Cap Camouflage Pattern I Posted February 6, 2016 Share #1 Posted February 6, 2016 Information on this helmet is very scarce, if you have one, or know anything about it please share and correct me. The DH-178 was an experiment helmet made by the Gentex Corporation for Self Propelled Artillery Crewmen. The helmet is very similar to the DH-132 Combat Vehicle Crewmans helmet but with no microphone and different earphone electronics. Only 1400 were made and the helmet was not adopted by the army. The DH-178 provides better hearing protection than the DH-132 but the audio quality is poorer. The DH-178 uses a direct hardwired intercom link instead of the DH-132's radio link. There is a limiting circuit in the amplifier that limits weapon noise amplification. Cap Camouflage Pattern I Posted February 6, 2016 Author Share #4 Posted February 6, 2016 Forum Member 1canpara's The camouflage is very interesting to me because it does not seem like something that would be done during testing, leading me to believe this helmet was used despite no being adopted. The earphones are different from mine, more like the DH-
