How to make a burlap cover?

I would like to make a burlap cover for a British mk4 helmet but this can answer for a M1 as well. I'm about to purchase a large used burlap sack to make the cover but what is the appropriate cut?

you can make it smooth with no wrinkles or make it more loose like I did


it might be a bit harder with an mk4, ive never seen how the covers on them are made but id imagine it might be a draw string
