M-65 Patches

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Sorry if this is in the wrong place. I'm very new so I was wondering if anyone could tell me what these patches mean. They are on a Desert Storm Era M-65 Field Jacket. Thanks:)

It is a 1st Lt. but I do not ever remember seeing an officer wearing hand sewn insignia on his uniform, I'm sure it was done but I do not recall it.

ranger tab and Air Defense Artillery Command (ARADCOM)

"ARADCOM" was for Army Air Defense Command, the missile defense organization in the continental US.

Although I can't imagine why someone would fake something like this, ARADCOM headquarters was inactivated 4 Jan 1975 and the SSI was cancelled on 30 Jan 75. The Woodland Camouflage pattern Field Coat was not adopted until 1982. So, there's no way that SSI could have been worn on that type of coat.
