Tonomachi Posted January 26, 2016 Share #1 Posted January 26, 2016 Picked this up at the flea market for a buck. Based on the colors I'm guessing a MP unit. The base material is OD cotton like you find on OG-107 fatigues. Maybe S. Korean manufacture which is just a guess? Anyone know for sure?
JerseyDevil117 Posted January 26, 2016 Share #2 Posted January 26, 2016 the unit name is on the tip of my tongue! I know for a fact it is a mp unit, and it is korean made.
AZ Abn Posted January 26, 2016 Share #3 Posted January 26, 2016 Team, Yes it is a MP DUI, the DUI for the 728th MP BN. Most likely Korean made, not a very accurate representation, but close. 728th MP BN was in the Korean war and stayed many years in Korea located in Taegu. Under the USARPAC transformation it went to Hawaii, with a Company staying in Korea. Ultimately elements of the BN went on to Iraq and back to Hawaii at Schofield. patches Posted February 3, 2016 Share #5 Posted February 3, 2016 Yep a 1960s example, typical of the period. Since it's on OD Cotton Sateen I would venture to say it was worn on the shoulder loops of either the field jacket or a modified fatique shirt, modified with the addition of shoulder loops, which in this last case was typical of the period too.
