strawberry 9 Posted January 23, 2016 Share #1 Posted January 23, 2016 This helmet had extensive rust so I used Wink Rust Remover on it after reading about other members successful results. I'm pretty happy with it.

dunmore1774 Posted January 23, 2016 Share #3 Posted January 23, 2016 Very nice results. Did you do anything else to it? The paint looks nice
strawberry 9 Posted January 23, 2016 Author Share #4 Posted January 23, 2016 Nope, just the rust off. It was mainly surface rust so the paint was still there for the most part. The shell also had a small 22 stenciled on the back. Maybe a Navy shell.

mruiz Posted February 4, 2016 Share #8 Posted February 4, 2016 Oxalic wood bleach works well. I have used it on Old Bike parts.

doyler Posted February 5, 2016 Share #10 Posted February 5, 2016 Where do you get it? Basically its oxalic acid. You can order it on line or find it in most hardware stores that carry various cleaning supplies or wood refinnishing products

Bugme Posted February 5, 2016 Share #13 Posted February 5, 2016 Whink is an awesome product but, you cannot let it soak for more than 30 seconds to 1 minutes before rinsing. Better to use another application than to have your paint disappear with the rust.
