Forum Manager Posted January 19, 2016 Share #1 Posted January 19, 2016 Members of the USMF Community: The administration was forced to suspend the account of community member LegGrunt71 It has been brought to the attention of the USMF Administration staff that this user had agreed to sell another member a medal on this forum and has since backed out of the deal. LegGrunt71 has been selling a family members military collection here on the USMF and was getting some help from a member here with prices. He told the other member about this medal and the price quoted was used to set the price. LegGrunt71 then listed the medal here on the USMF and agreed to sell it to a member here. As soon as the sale was agreed to and a notice stating that the it was sold, was posted numerous members sent him messages saying the medal was priced way too cheap. LegGrunt71 in turn pulls out of the sale and refuses to then follow through with the agreed upon sale. While the staff here feels bad that it was underpriced, we do not agree with the refusal to complete the deal. Everyone has made mistakes in pricing, but most will still back their word. This is a classic example of the USMF staff saying to use the What's It Worth section and to get numerous opinions, and to go from there. The buyer is still waiting, as of today, to get his funds returned. In an interest to protect the members of this community, LegGrunt71 account has been banned. For us to maintain that friendly atmosphere, we must make sure that members are fulfilling their obligations. Buyers are buying what they agreed to buy, and sellers are selling what they agreed to sell.It is true that the FOR SALE section is operated under the principle that all transactions are between the buyer and seller. The forum and/or its owners cannot force anyone to complete their obligations nor can we be held responsible for the actions of either party during the transaction or before or after. However, we will (as evidenced here) take action if necessary when there are abuses. Forum Manager
