notinfringed Posted January 18, 2016 Share #1 Posted January 18, 2016 A friend of mine found this door, and asked me if I could ID it for him. I think it is for a CCKW, but I'm far from an expert. At first I thought dodge command car, but they always seem to have a little hump by the hinge. Any ideas? Thanks in advance. Levi
hbtcoveralls Posted January 21, 2016 Share #2 Posted January 21, 2016 Is it curved? if so it might be for the Diamond T.
Powerhouse Posted January 21, 2016 Share #3 Posted January 21, 2016 The rounded shape reminds me of a WC15 or WC56, 57 ... why not a field modification
notinfringed Posted January 22, 2016 Author Share #4 Posted January 22, 2016 The door is not concave or convex from the outside. It is pretty much flat. My first thought was Dodge as well, but all of the pictures I found of the WC series had a bump out by the lower hinge that this door doesn't have. I suppose it could be a rear door from a WC-15? I don't think this is a field mod. It seems too well built for that. Here is a picture of the other side.
hbtcoveralls Posted January 22, 2016 Share #5 Posted January 22, 2016 The doors issued for the command cars were all canvas with steel rod skeletons, so unless this was a field modification it's not for the Dodge command car, Another possibility would be Ward Lafrance wrecker
Andersun Posted January 23, 2016 Share #6 Posted January 23, 2016 Looks CCKW. Command cars have bar stock hooks, not hinges.
