OG-107 Modified for Flight?

This OG-107 came to me s part of a lot I won at auction. I hadn't seen one with Velcro affixed above the left breast pocket. As it appears to have been hand sewn, might this have been individually modified for use by an Army or Air Force flight crew member?

I worked with some AF guys in the 90's that had velcro nape badges on their BDUs. There were all ground crew (Commo and radar) Maybe they did this for use overseas so they can sterilize their uniforms easily if needed?

Makes sense.

Some time ago, I spent time with SOCCENT (Special Operations Command - Central), and we wore DCUs with same Velcro above left breast pocket. As I was a joint unit - Army, Navy, Air Force and USMC - this kept everyone uniform, as well as giving us the ability to go sterile while deployed overseas.

I'd not seen this on OG-107 before.
