svt40 Posted January 12, 2016 Share #1 Posted January 12, 2016 I picked up some cheapo M1936 suspenders for a friend who is getting interested in the MV hobby. I ordered what I thought was SWI but ended up getting US Spec marked suspenders. I've seen SWI before and it was ok quality from what I remember but the US Spec stuff is garbage. I would not have bought it if I had known it was not what was shown in the add. Before I return it I wanted to know who marks their stuff SWI. I have quite a few originals but I am not keen on just giving them away to a friend getting into military vehicles. Hence the cheap repops. No sense dragging originals around in the mud strapped to the back of a jeep.
doyler Posted January 12, 2016 Share #5 Posted January 12, 2016 Just picked up a set for $18 plus shipping.Real 42 date and real nice. Have had some used ones I have graded out too that had repairs. Very true about using originals that way.But for static display or impressions real can be found. There are a few sellers on line. One is called Man the Line? Not sure who makes his stuff but most all seem to have a China connection. One seller from Rapid City SD sells on ebay as well. Good luck in your hunt.Something will turn up.
