stealthytyler Posted January 1, 2016 Share #1 Posted January 1, 2016 Check out this awesome musette bag that my father picked up the other day. The vet was a WWII/Korea/Vietnam vet. He was an Army Engineer and retired as a Colonel. Pretty cool!

Ronnie Posted January 1, 2016 Share #10 Posted January 1, 2016 That is amazing. That is so cool! Your dad did great. I have never seen a Musette bag dated that early. Really a nice piece. Ronnie

Ronnie Posted January 2, 2016 Share #12 Posted January 2, 2016 I just picked up a 41 dated bag from this web site. It's a nice one too. That's the earliest I've seen. Ronnie
'Flage Guy Posted January 2, 2016 Share #13 Posted January 2, 2016 Tyler, I think that's the 3rd Field Bag of that vintage I've seen in my entire life...kudos to your Dad! Some of my best memories ever are of my Dad and I going through surplus stores, barns, etc. and scrounging for old treasures Here is one of those 3 that I got from the old Manion's mail auction catalogues years ago. 'Flage Guy Posted January 2, 2016 Share #15 Posted January 2, 2016 The very next Manions' catalogue contained these Suspenders. Check out the difference from the M1936 Suspenders of early '40s vintage:
'Flage Guy Posted January 2, 2016 Share #16 Posted January 2, 2016 The front harness straps are identical to the rear, with the hooks permanently riveted to the straps, similar to the old Mills M1907 (?) Suspenders.
'Flage Guy Posted January 2, 2016 Share #17 Posted January 2, 2016 Another weird feature- both harnesses are stamped.

stealthytyler Posted January 2, 2016 Author Share #19 Posted January 2, 2016 I think my dad is going to sell the musette bag. Trying to get a value on it given the early year and the connection to the soldier.
