juodonnell2012 Posted July 12, 2019 Share #26 Posted July 12, 2019 Looks like a Vietnam era repaint to me, I've seen that exact color on alot of reissued ww2 m1 helmets.
Blueprint Posted July 12, 2019 Share #27 Posted July 12, 2019 Would they then put off the chinstraps and back again, or why is there no color evident on the chinstrap. I wonder myself how the process of repainting was and why they then didnt switch to the T1 Chinstraps or swivel bail. Thanks Blueprint
huntssurplus Posted July 12, 2019 Share #28 Posted July 12, 2019 I'd agree with the fact that it is most likely a vietnam repainted. The color looks just like a Vietnam repaint. Could have been that they saw the chinstraps were attached and so they didn't need to replace them, or that it was a career soldiers helmet who knows. It's not hard to avoid paint on chin straps, especially if it was a brush that was used. Also paint could have chipped off too. Definitely doesn't look like a camouflage paint job too. Blueprint Posted July 13, 2019 Share #29 Posted July 13, 2019 Alright, thanks Hunt! Then I have to overthink to whom it maybe belonged. Blueprint
