gpspartans Posted December 22, 2015 #1 Posted December 22, 2015 have eagle face right navy button 3/4" - 19mm with solid border I can't fix this to anything in Albert according to backmark on this forum could be late 50's any help will be greatly appreciated
dag Posted December 22, 2015 #2 Posted December 22, 2015 Definitely an NA-113 type - probably late 1800's/early 1900's. Definitely post Civil War but pre-WWII due to the variety and manufacturer. Varies from the pictures in Albert's both due to size and maker (die). Don't have my books in front of me, will check later to see if I can narrow down the date a bit more. David
dag Posted December 23, 2015 #3 Posted December 23, 2015 Per Tice's book, "first third of twentieth century." McGuinn/Bazelon backmark book lists several different backmarks (excluding this one) for NA-113 US Navy buttons.
gpspartans Posted February 14, 2018 Author #4 Posted February 14, 2018 just fishing through pile of buttons and have one of these
JohnK83882 Posted June 19 #5 Posted June 19 The 19mm (3/4 inch) buttons might be for the dinner dress uniform. I have WW1 paired buttons used for the mess dress.
