phantomfixer Posted December 22, 2015 Share #2 Posted December 22, 2015 Very nice example..I like how the O2 mask clip is sewn on to the A-11 helmet snaps...nice detail.....but shouldn't the clip be on the other side?? are you close to national archives? for the pics? or another source?...the second pic is killer...looks like the guy on the end with the pipe is maybe the crew chiew or radioman? maybe an Aero A-2? Nice helmet kinda rare too....
Brewenn Posted December 22, 2015 Author Share #3 Posted December 22, 2015 Thanks for your message... For the O2 mask clip you are right, it is supposed to be on the other side. But my helmet was found in France near the site of a crash and it have sewn clis on the both sides. I can't explain this but it's 100% original. The goggles and the 02 mask were added after by me. The photo are in free access in FOLD3 website. It is an almost inexhaustible source (more than 88 000 pictures) in very good quality: https://fold3.com/title_495/wwii_us_air_force_photos/ Enjoy ! littlebuddy Posted December 22, 2015 Share #5 Posted December 22, 2015 Who is to say that the original owner preferred to have clips on both straps of his oxy mask ? wouldn't be a hard thing to get a rigger to do A very nice example of what is a very rare helmet indeed ! Congratulations and thanks for sharing it with us
