From what little detail you can make out from the buckle, it does look like the Virginia coat of arms.

 

Perhaps someone will recognize the sword and the pistol as well.

Thanks, that's what I thought at first look...

Sword is an 1840 cavalry and the pistol looks like an 1858 Remington New Model. Ed

The revolver could be a Confederate copy. Seeing the shade difference between the cylinder and the frame. The frame could be brass. The firm Griswold and Gunnison made copies of the 1851 Colt and the 1858 Remington both with brass frames.
