Mullen Coins Posted December 17, 2015 #1 Posted December 17, 2015 Just picked this up - interesting piece with provenance. This bayonet was brought home from Tokyo Bay by sailor on the USS Wilkes Barre. Blade has etching with USS Wilkes Barre on one side and Tokyo Bay Sept. 2 1945 of the otherside. I believe this is a very late issue Last Ditch Type 30 bayonet. It has straight grip, no fullers, square tip wood scabbard and belt frog. Bayonet, scabbard and frog are all in remarkably nice condition. Marks suggest maker as Hikari Seiki Seisakusho Armory. Not really a collector of items like this but I welcome comments for the experts. Hope this images are helpful.
