Aloha Everyone,

This is a reference topic specifically for patches manufactured by Silvio Polidoro, Inc. of Naples Italy

They were primarily suppliers to the units of the Sixth Fleet (Staff, Surface, Aviation, Support, etc) but I've also seen their patches made for the Middle East Force (Staff, LaSalle, Coronado, etc) and also for USN commands who participated in the Persian Gulf area from the Hostage Crisis (1980) up through Desert Storm (1991).

Please post any examples you have of Italian Silvio Polidoro patches as a forum reference

First up, Commander Battle Force Sixth Fleet, Naples, Italy

Primarily deployed to the Med/Sixth Fleet during her career afloat.

The quality on this one is not nearly that of the other Silvio Polidoro's on this topic

CV 67 USS JOHN F KENNEDY Suez Canal February 1982 002.jpg

On 4 January 1982, John F. Kennedy, with Carrier Air Wing Three (AC), sailed as the flagship for Carrier Group Four (CCG-4) from Norfolk, Va. on her ninth deployment, and her first visit to the Indian Ocean after port visits to St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands, Malaga, Spain, and transiting the Suez Canal. In her time in the Indian Ocean John F. Kennedy conducted her only port visit to Perth/Fremantle, Western Australia, anchoring in Gage Roads on 19 March 1982 for a R&R visit, departing on 25 March back to the Indian Ocean. During this time John F. Kennedy played host to the first visit of the Somali head of state. Her cruise ended with port visits to Mombasa, Kenya and Toulon, France, and another visit to Malaga, Spain before returning home on 14 July 1982.
