Help with a uniform size

So, I work with a gentleman who served in the Navy during Vietnam. He told me he got rid of his uniforms years ago but wishes he hadn't. I'd like to buy him a set of blues in his size. I think he's a 33" waist so that's easy enough but I'm not sure what size jumper will fit. I'd say he's around 5' 7" and probably 155 pounds. He's in rather good shape for his age. What size is equivalent to a medium? 38?

Thank you, patches. I only worry that these standard sizes won't apply to Navy jumpers. The jumpers always seem to run small!

I think there was a talk on Navy square rig sizes, can't remember when.
