This Specialist 7 was involved in sleep deprivation testing. The picture appeared in the June 1964 issue of Army Information Digest.

Hey no tapes on his shirt!

Another Spec 7 find, a real life photo, a Spec 7 along with a Nurse of an unidentified Medical Unit, probably a Field Hospital, in West Germany, they are tending to a GI injured in a training accident, do believe this is during Operation Big Lift in October 1963, you know the one where the whole 2nd Armd Div from Ft Hood Texas flies to West Germany to undertake extensive maneuvers with 7th Army.

Although not a SP/7, thought folks would be interested to see a WAC SP/6 uniform. Hopefully someone will know the significance of the sunburst cloth underneath her collar brass. The accompanying caption for the picture reads: Specialist Six McCarthy, WAC Detachment, Aberdeen Proving Grounds, Md., accepts a letter of commendation from WAC School Commandant Colonel Michl in a ceremony Jan. 30 honoring the graduates of the WAC Noncommissioned Officers Leadership Course. Spec. 6 McCarthy was one of four women designated honor graduates.

Specialist 7 John Christel in 1975. The link where this photo was posted indicates this picture was taken for his application to become a warrant officer. It appears his career was in the Military Police as a criminal investigator.

So, I just discovered recently that someone posted this picture of my uncle, sans name board, to Wikipedia. It made me really happy to see him honored like that!

One more Vietnam Fatality Spec 7. Here, this GI, a Nisei from Hawaii, a WWII Vet as we see, don't know what e did in WWII, or if he was in Korea as well, He was gunned down in the street in Saigon by undercover VC Operatives on Motor Scooters, the VC acting evidently autonomously and not part of a large unit.

Another Spec 7, this being Gene Ramos, a Korean War 3rd Inf Div Combat Infantry Vet, Company H, 7th Infantry, gets captured when Chinese overrun the line and swarm in rear areas, Ramos was wounded and in the rear at an Aid Station,  Hiroshi Miyamura MOH is in the same company, and is captured as well as we know,

Ramos evidently stays in the Army and in this 1968 photo he no longer Infantry, he  evidently switching MOS's, though do not know to which.

Ramos again, this time in the RVN like in 1969, unit he was in unknown, too bad we can't see shoulder patch to get a general idea of his MOS. Note one and all that he's wearing Theater Made Spec 7 ranks.
