gwb123 Posted December 13, 2015 Share #1 Posted December 13, 2015 Different time, different world. This inert Nike missile trainer showed up at my hometown 4th of July parade in 1967 in Broomall, PA, outside of Philadelphia. I only got a brief look at it, as I was marching in the junior high school band that day. But my Mom, knowing my interests, took these photos for me before it drove off back to its base. The closest unit was billeted right up the West Chester Pike at site known as Edgemont. However, this more likely belonged to their higher headquarters. I don't think I have ever seen another one marked "inert" outside of a museum display. Very likely it was used for training personnel how to handle and transport the missile. How many people can say they have marched in a parade with one of these?
sundance Posted December 14, 2015 Share #2 Posted December 14, 2015 You have to admit, they are still darn nice looking for being 50 years old.
