Came across an EGA in an antique store I frequent. I could barely make out a maker in the cross bar of the anchor, 'atterboro?, or something like that. It was, larger than a collar device so hat? with rope around the achor. Gold in color. Is this a current model or from what era?

I didn't buy it as I wanted to find out more about it.

Your help would be appreciated.

Would likely be a WWII M37 by Robbins Co of Attleboro, Robbins will be marked above it. Notoriously faint crossbar marks. There were no Amcraft marked EGAs that I've seen. An uncommon hallmark

Robbins made both enlisted dress and service emblems for covers, with the service being scarcer, and at least dress collars...haven't found any marked service collars, but would not be surprised if they're out there

Only EGA I've ever seen with Attleboro in the crossbar was the Robbins. Blackinton and Krew I've seen use their firm names without the city
