Jumpin Jack Posted August 17, 2016 Author Share #26 Posted August 17, 2016 Hello all, I got a response back from the Canadian Archives stating, that due to a backlog of requests, I can expect a response in about eight months. I'll keep you posted. Jack
Andrew Posted August 23, 2016 Share #27 Posted August 23, 2016 Jack, I am sorry to hear that the service standards have slipped so far. Through the grapevine I have heard that the archives have undergone significant cutbacks in recent years, and just do not have sufficient staff to handle all of the incoming requests. It used to be that an inquiry like this would be answered and completed within a few weeks.

Jumpin Jack Posted June 29, 2017 Author Share #29 Posted June 29, 2017 Thank you for asking. Documents show that he was wounded not once, but twice--Sicily and Italy. In addition to being trained on the mororcycle, he was also trained as a tank diver. He was promoted to Lance Corporal. All this is new information to me as details on his discharge paper is very sparce.
