btimpe Posted November 27, 2015 Share #1 Posted November 27, 2015 From what I have read, I believe that this patch is a Boots & Chutes version, however I don't have any insight into the "leatherette" patch. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Allan H. Posted November 27, 2015 Share #3 Posted November 27, 2015 You are correct, the patch you show is the Chutes and Boots version of the patch. The other piece that you show is actually printed on cardboard. There are other examples of these printed insignias. Most are AAF squadron insignias. These were never meant to be worn as insignia. Bill Scott Posted November 27, 2015 Share #4 Posted November 27, 2015 I think the first one shown is a reproduction.I have never seen a pink faced Boots and Chute 515th.I also do not like the backing on it at all.Just my opinion.Scotty PS look at page 150 in the Kellers book to see the Boots Version

Allan H. Posted November 27, 2015 Share #6 Posted November 27, 2015 Scotty is absolutely right. I simply saw the un-embroidered parachute canopy and said "Chutes" to myself. He is correct. This one is a fake for the reasons that he mentioned... Allan
