In this instance I believe a plug has been welded at the base of the barrel and the barrel permanently attached so it cannot therefore be changed to make the gun "live" again. Also the firing pin is sawed off. The stampings you see in the photo below are applied by the government approved Proof House as an indication that it is a deactivated weapon...this is standard practice for all such weapons in the UK. No permit is necessary to own such a weapon, but they are issued with a Proof House Certificate of Deactivation. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
