jdamaso111 Posted November 12, 2015 Share #1 Posted November 12, 2015 Have had theses for sometime tucked in a tote with other miscellaneous militaria. Are these WW2 period or post? There was no tab with the two and I was told they came off the same uniform.

jdamaso111 Posted November 12, 2015 Author Share #4 Posted November 12, 2015 You can see where the oval was machine sewn and that there were wings on it.
jdamaso111 Posted November 12, 2015 Author Share #5 Posted November 12, 2015 Hard to tell but you can see the SSI had been sewn on something as well.
tarbridge Posted November 12, 2015 Share #6 Posted November 12, 2015 Patche looks WWII era.I do not have a problem with the oval...that style might have been used later also.
Allan H. Posted November 12, 2015 Share #7 Posted November 12, 2015 Your oval is for HQ 82nd Airborne Division and WWII examples are normally embroidered on red felt. The fact that these pieces came together and that there is no airborne tab leads me to the conclusion that this oval and patch were worn post war in the 1947 time period when the airborne tab was taken away from the 82nd.
