twining540 Posted November 10, 2015 #1 Posted November 10, 2015 Not my area of collecting, but for the price I couldn't leave them behind. All the items came from Ludington MI. The uniforms belonged to Commander Lawrence R Schmieder, Chaplain. He served as chaplain at Great Lakes, was aboard the cruiser Pensacola, was with the 6th Marines during ww2 and also the 1st Marines. He was then acting chaplain aboard the USS Missouri, and then with the 1st Marine air wing in Korea. The footlocker is named to Col William C Glisson. He was a Korean war and Vietnam veteran. He was awarded the Silver Star, Legion of Merit, Distinguished Flying Cross, Bronze Star for Valor, Meritorious Service Medal, Air Medal, Army Commendation, and Purple Heart. I am not sure what the primer/fuse came from. It measures about 4 inches long and the primer is marked M1B1A2 and dated 1944. I hope you enjoy the pics!
