GeneralLucas Posted November 6, 2015 Share #1 Posted November 6, 2015 Over the years, I have seen wings with applied devices that were applied very poorly. Here are two aircrew wings that the device is slanted, one is a Blackington which is a fine maker but the first one shown has a Brit pin. Pitiful certainly, but we can always count on Lux to do it right, here is a Senior Service Pilot wing with an applied "S" and star, perfect work. I have a bombardier wing that the end of the bomb is pointing at 8 o'clock, but the airman was with the 8AF.

GeneralLucas Posted November 6, 2015 Author Share #5 Posted November 6, 2015 The Lux is perfect, note the position of the "S"....

mtnman Posted November 7, 2015 Share #8 Posted November 7, 2015 Lucas, those are outstanding wings and the tilt of the appurtenances are just awesome! The small difference from the standard, shows the hand done part of the insignia which in World War II, still existed. In the attack of vicious proportions by industry, on America's ability to manufacture, from WWII to NAFTA in the 90's etc, makes the American made Luxenberg even more precious still.
