digi-shots Posted November 4, 2015 Share #7 Posted November 4, 2015 Very nice! I have a similar one made of water buffalo hide and made for a .38 Special revolver. It was also carried by a Special Forces veteran and then a MACV Army vet. Here's a link to an interesting article on these "drop leg" holsters... SFMike Posted November 5, 2015 Share #9 Posted November 5, 2015 I still ave one. There were piles and piles of these in little shops everywhere there were GIs. Unlikely it was actually custom made-there were so many varieties laying in heaps. That rig woud have cost abut 5 bucks MPC. Some units were more allowing of others as to wear of these. In 5th Group, you'd have to be fairly far from the flagpole to wear one of these on a service uniform. The unconventional looking stuff was frowned upon in polite company. Hence the mint condiditon of many examples found today

SFMike Posted February 26, 2016 Share #14 Posted February 26, 2016 Here's one in use by an LLDB on a Medcap we ran one day. Mine has a single pouch sewn on the side. If the one in the thread was actually used, it wasn't much. Not a trace of wear apparent in the pics. I spent a year and a half observing this stuff every day. I had been a militaria collector and had an interest in things I saw.
