Alex Boban Posted November 4, 2015 Share #1 Posted November 4, 2015 Hi, Can one of the US Navy insignia expert on the forum identify this US Navy bullion rate? I have been searching through the forum older threads and can't find a match for it. Navy specialty marks are usually self-explanatory but I can't figure this one out. It looks like a chest / trunk with a opened grill top. The Bullion is a little different in the middle and seems to represent something inside this chest. All suggestions are welcome! Thank you all. RustyCanteen Posted November 4, 2015 Share #2 Posted November 4, 2015 Nice, that is a Fire Control Technician rate. See this post: http://www.usmilitariaforum.com/forums/index.php?/topic/232643-ww2-navy-grouping/?p=1849686
Justin B. Posted November 4, 2015 Share #3 Posted November 4, 2015 I always like seeing those short-lived rates, and that's a really nice one. The specialty mark is a simplified representation of something like this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ship_gun_fire-control_system#/media/File:Mk37_Director_circa1944.jpg Justin B.
