CorsairAce Posted October 29, 2015 Share #1 Posted October 29, 2015 Picked these up last weekend. The wood plate is from the 93rd Signal Battalion from 1963. The item from the USS Nassau is a little bit different then anything I've seen. It looks like a souvenir sword or dagger that a service member got while on shore. Anyone have further info on this? sigsaye Posted October 30, 2015 Share #3 Posted October 30, 2015 The sword is typical "Sailor Trinket". Looks African, from a port visit there. I've been to Mombasa in Kenya several times and the ship was filled with this "stuff" when we left as it was exceptionally cheap. In the 1970s, "Stuff" like this went for about $2-$5 USD.
