Early 1960s USAF Patch and Cap ID?

Sorry for the small photo. I am trying to identify the patch and possible unit designation for the ball cap.

This is from a painting that dates from the early 1960s, and was made stateside in the US.

You are looking either for the 3389th, 3512th or 3551st Pilot Training Squadrons.

The 3512th was the only image I could find online with a quick search after seeing your post, so thank you for clarifying that the unit patches had the same basic design. Thus, it could be any of those units in the photo. Thank you again!

Looks like the ball cap has 51 on it with a Lts. bar between the numerals. So wouldn't that indicate 3351st Sqd.? Back in the days of 4 digit unit numbers, the last two digits were often used by themselves.

What Lee said is correct about using the last 2 numbers, and the original posted pic should be 3551 PTS related. It was based at Moody AFB, GA as part of the 3550 PT Wing.
