thefallenbuddha Posted October 29, 2015 Share #1 Posted October 29, 2015 Sorry for the small photo. I am trying to identify the patch and possible unit designation for the ball cap. This is from a painting that dates from the early 1960s, and was made stateside in the US. Thank you in advance for any and all replies!

nguoi tien su Posted October 29, 2015 Share #4 Posted October 29, 2015 You're welcome. The design is actually the same for the three patches, with only a different designation.
thefallenbuddha Posted October 29, 2015 Author Share #5 Posted October 29, 2015 The 3512th was the only image I could find online with a quick search after seeing your post, so thank you for clarifying that the unit patches had the same basic design. Thus, it could be any of those units in the photo. Thank you again!
Lee Ragan Posted October 29, 2015 Share #6 Posted October 29, 2015 Looks like the ball cap has 51 on it with a Lts. bar between the numerals. So wouldn't that indicate 3351st Sqd.? Back in the days of 4 digit unit numbers, the last two digits were often used by themselves.
Randy Posted October 29, 2015 Share #7 Posted October 29, 2015 What Lee said is correct about using the last 2 numbers, and the original posted pic should be 3551 PTS related. It was based at Moody AFB, GA as part of the 3550 PT Wing. Randy

Randy Posted November 2, 2015 Share #9 Posted November 2, 2015 Thank you both for additional input! Looks like it is the 3351st. That would be 3551, there was no 3351 just to clarify! Randy
