Terry K. Posted October 27, 2015 Share #1 Posted October 27, 2015 I got this at an antique mall a couple of days ago and have not found it. It's not a C-27J or any others I looked up. Anyone know? It looks to have JATO pods on the wings, and tail letters look like "AO" or maybe "AD"
Bagman Posted October 27, 2015 Share #2 Posted October 27, 2015 I'm a bit rusty on VN era aircraft, but isn't that a C-123 Provider?? Respectfully submitted, Bagman

There may be some errors? Hope this helps. If tail code is AO: -7-15-1969 to 9-22-1969: SOS Wing, 4408 CCTS; Hurlburt Field, FL. -4-15-1970 to 1972: 1st SOW, 317th SOS; Hurlburt Field, FL. Randy Posted November 3, 2015 Share #9 Posted November 3, 2015 I got this at an antique mall a couple of days ago and have not found it. It's not a C-27J or any others I looked up. Anyone know? It looks to have JATO pods on the wings, and tail letters look like "AO" or maybe "AD" Those are not JATO pods (JATO attaches to the fuselage on aircraft that use it). They are J85 jet engines. The C-123K was a converted C-123B, and the jets are the best way to tell as the B didn't have them. Hope this helps. Randy
